POLLINATOR HABITAT
"The Borough of Avalon has created a new pollinator
habitat on the northwest corner of Armacost Park in the southern portion
of the community. The new pollinator habitat is established at a site
where a mowed lawn previously existed. The habitat is intended to
provide a location for migratory pollinators and birds to stop during
migration and help rebound the numbers of important pollinators
including Monarch Butterflies on the east coast of the United States."

ULTIMATE BEACH HACKS
"The Inquirer recently asked readers for their ultimate beach hacks.
They got a lot of responses, ranging from aloe cubes to heal sunburns to
fitted sheets to keep sand off beach towels and baby powder as a trick
to get sand off hands and feet. Of course, baby powder wasn't the only
advice. From U-locks to bungee cords, check out the link below for more
responses..."

DOCK REPAIRS CONTINUE
"Business Administrator Scott Wahl provided Avalon Borough Council with
an update on repair to the public dock at 24th Street and Fifth Avenue.
The work was scheduled for completion by May 22 but ran into a series of
delays. The most serious of which was the inability of the general
contractor to get a subcontractor with the right skill set for elements
of the work concerning the pilings."

TURNING 50!
"Throughout the year, The Wetlands Institute is celebrating the 50th
anniversary of its founding. Many of you know them well. Others have
driven by for years but really don’t know who they are or what they do.
And even more are unfamiliar with their history. As they celebrate 50
years since the founding of The Wetlands Institute, it is an opportune
time to explore their roots and hear a most remarkable story that has
had a profound impact on our community and coastal communities statewide
and beyond."
